History of the Book Final Creative Project

What is this page?

I have been meaning to make a Neocities for quite some time, and I used this project as an excuse to finally sit down and do it! This page is essentially my assignment, but also a time capsule of sorts. Other pages on this site will change, but I intend to keep this page it the orignial website style forever, to show the progress I have made over time.

My Assignment

If you are in my class, hello! This is my final creative project! This entire site is coded in HTML. As previously stated, I have been meaning to make a Neocities for quite a while, and the HTML tutorial we did in class a while back gave me the push I needed to finally do it! I'm a bit of a newbie to HTML and CSS, so that's why this page looks so basic. I hope to make this site look more unique as I practice more with these coding formats.

I am very passionate about media preservation. As such, I am a huge advocate for physical media and publishing. Publishing books, tv shows, movies, music, and so on in an exclusively digital format are the best ways to lose them. Many pieces of media that were once lost were found via a phsyical recording of some kind. I do, however, acknowledge that having access to resources digitally is incredibly important from an accessibility standpoint. Physical media takes up a lot of space and can get cumbersome to mantain/lug around. Not to mention, physical publications aren't always the most accessible to people who are say, deaf, blind, dyslexic, and so on. The key solution to this problem is balance. Whenever a form of media is published digitally, it also needs to have a physical backup of some kind. Pieces of media need to be preserved physically and digitally in order for them to be accessible to as many people as possible for as long as possible.

I have had so much fun and learned so much in this class, and wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors. Be sure to check by this website in the future for updates. Also, I'd really appreciate it if y'all signed my guestbook!

I don't really know what else to say, so here is an image of an axolotl!
